About Anubis Labs
Anubis Labs specializes in Subsurface Intelligence using proprietary Synthetic Aperture Radar technology for depth-resolved subsurface analysis serving the energy, mining, and critical infrastructure markets. Our core asset is a patented algorithm called HSAR (Harmonic SAR), which uses CUDA-accelerated processing to convert radar signals into depth-resolved material compositions, rendered as interactive 3D volumetric scenes streamed to a user’s browser. The platform replaces and supplements slow, costly, depth-limited methods like seismic surveys and exploratory drilling, compressing analysis cycles by roughly 100x. Anubis Labs differentiates on security and data sovereignty as much as on the algorithm itself: the platform runs a two-plane architecture, with a commercial SaaS plane handling the customer-facing app and a fully air-gapped, on-premises “sovereign” plane housing the sensitive HSAR core and raw data. Rather than replacing industry-standard tools like Petrel, DecisionSpace, or Leapfrog, Anubis feeds processed results into them, and is architected to extend into government services and adjacent markets.
Position summary
Anubis Labs is seeking a Deputy Chief Technology Officer / Product Owner to serve as a senior technical and product leader, partnering directly with the CTO to drive engineering excellence, cloud-native and Kubernetes architecture strategy, and the delivery of enterprise-scale AI solutions. This individual will bridge deep hands-on technical expertise across the full software development lifecycle with product ownership, customer engagement, and organizational leadership. The ideal candidate has built and operated large-scale, cloud-native platforms, has substantial experience delivering sovereign and enterprise AI solutions, and is equally comfortable architecting systems, leading engineering teams, and presenting solutions to customers and executive stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Act as deputy to the CTO, sharing accountability for technical strategy, architecture direction, and engineering execution across the organization.
- Own product outcomes end-to-end, translating business and customer requirements into technical roadmaps, backlogs, and delivery plans.
- Lead and mentor engineering teams across the full software development lifecycle — design, development, testing, deployment, and operations.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines using common open source tooling, driving reliability, security, and speed of delivery.
- Architect and operate enterprise-scale, cloud-native solutions on Kubernetes, including the surrounding ecosystem of infrastructure, networking, security, and observability tooling.
- Lead the design and delivery of sovereign, on-premises and cloud-based AI solutions, including AI agents and underlying AI compute platforms.
- Leverage NVIDIA tools, technologies, and hardware platforms to optimize AI training, inference, and compute infrastructure.
- Apply AI to scientific and computational workloads, working with the specialized tools and frameworks used in AI-driven scientific computing.
- Represent the organization in public speaking engagements, technical presentations, and customer-facing solution demonstrations.
- Partner with sales, customers, and delivery teams on solution development, value-based management, and program planning.
- Champion Agile practices across engineering and product teams, ensuring predictable, high-quality delivery.
- Produce clear, effective technical and business writing, including architecture documentation, proposals, and executive communications.
Required qualifications & experience
Engineering & Delivery
- 15+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with demonstrated growth into senior technical leadership.
- Proven talent across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements and architecture through deployment and operations.
- Strong working knowledge of common open source CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Tekton, or similar).
- Demonstrated skill in both CI/CD pipeline development and day-to-day operations at scale.
Cloud-Native & Kubernetes
- 5+ years of hands-on Kubernetes experience, including the broader ecosystem of tools and technologies that make up Kubernetes architecture (e.g., Helm, Istio/service mesh, container registries, ingress controllers, observability and monitoring stacks, GitOps tooling).
- Track record of building enterprise-scale products and solutions on cloud-native and Kubernetes-based architectures.
Artificial Intelligence
- 3+ years of experience building AI solutions, including sovereign, on-premises and cloud-based AI platforms, AI agents, and AI compute infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with NVIDIA tools and technologies (e.g., CUDA, NVIDIA AI Enterprise, NIM, DGX systems, or similar).
- Experience applying AI to scientific and computational workloads, and familiarity with the tools used in AI-based scientific computing.
Leadership & Communication
- Demonstrated experience in public speaking, executive and customer presentations, and live solution demonstrations.
- Experience in solution development, value-based management, and strategic planning.
- Practical experience operating within Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe).
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear technical and executive-level documentation.
Preferred qualifications
- Prior experience in a Deputy CTO, VP of Engineering, Chief Architect, or senior Product Owner role.
- Experience operating in government, defense, or other environments requiring sovereign/air-gapped AI deployments.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CKA/CKAD/CKS, NVIDIA certifications, cloud provider architect certifications).
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
Core competencies
- Strategic and hands-on technical leadership
- Cloud-native and Kubernetes architecture
- AI/ML platform and agent development
- Executive presence and customer-facing communication
